Lighting the Way

During the holidays and into the winter months, many of our communities in Northern Colorado light up their trees and buildings. There are numerous locations to walk around and enjoy the lighting decorations. Most of our communities participate in the holiday tradition.

In addition to lighting the trees, there are also multiple outdoor skating rinks. All of the skating rinks are open during the day and evenings. The skating rinks are also decorated for the holiday season. The outdoor skating rinks are located in Old Town Fort Collins, Foothills Fashion Mall, and Centerra in Loveland. At each location one can rent skates or bring their own. There is a fee to us the skating rinks, but it is super fun for a low cost.

Fort Collins and Loveland’s Old Town areas are all light up for the holidays. In the evening while shopping or going out for a drink, the lights add an extra little touch of holiday cheer. The best part is that viewing the lights is completely free. Another option is to load the kids up in the car, and driving around to look at the different neighborhoods. Many people partake in the tradition of decorating their homes and some take it to the next level.

In Loveland at Centerra the Sculpture Park is all lit up. From 5:00pm-9:00pm daily there is a light show set to music. This show is also completely free to view.

I recommend picking up a Hot Chocolate, putting on a warm coat, and go walk around the light and music show. This show will be running until Jan 1st.

In Fort Collins The Spring Creek Garden Center is also fully lit up for the holiday’s, however, this one has a fee to attend.

Even though it may be cold outside there is no reason to stay inside during the winter months in Colorado so go outside and enjoy!!!
