I am the type of person who can go camping in a tent, hiking up a trail, or skiing down a freezing cold mountain…
However, I also love enjoying the finer things in life. I love high end hotels and restaurants with great food. By indulging with a sophisticated drink, in a beautiful location, with a Jazz Band playing in the background, this is a great reason to live in Northern Colorado.
The Sunset Lounge in Old Town Fort Collins at the top of The Elizabeth Hotel it is the perfect place to get away and indulge. The lounge has a bit of a secret feel to it, since one has to ride up on a private elevator, to the 5th floor, that opens up into the lounge entrance.
Once the elevator doors open, one can enter into The Sunset Lounge. It is a beautiful high end setting which includes, an expansive outdoor seating area. The glass windows stretch from the floor to the ceiling, allowing for an amazing view of Old Town and The Front Range. The views do not disappoint and it would be fair to say, that this is the best location to watch the sunset…thus the name.
The atmosphere is comfy with a classy high end feel. It is a great gathering place to start the evening or possible end the evening after a wonderful dinner.
I have had the opportunity to visit the lounge on a few different occasions, including times of the day, and seasons over the past year…each time has been a pleasure! Specifically, I enjoy watching the sunset over the mountains while sipping a wonderful glass of wine.
The hand crafted cocktails are quite special and I have a few favorites. There are light appetizers available to start off the evening, but they do not serve dinner.
If you are new to Northern Colorado or have lived here forever, I would plan a nice evening in Old Town Fort Collins which includes a drink at The Sunset Lounge. It would also be a great place to take visitors to…that way they can see all we have to offer from atop a building, on a beautiful deck at sunset, of course
