Tonight Chris and I met a large group of friends for dinner and drinks at RARE Italian in Old Town Fort Collins. The restaurant cuisine showcases Italian dishes, the world’s best steaks, and a wonderful wine selection. The atmosphere is high end with rich wood decor and an open kitchen, it is very welcoming. On a clear warm evening one might choose to sit outside for dinner.
I would say this is a higher end restaurant for our area. Perfect for a date night or for just wanting an excellent Italian dinning experience with a wonderful glass of wine. One feature that is really nice, you can actually make reservation. I believe that there are less and less restaurants that will take reservation. The menu changes from time to time and offer special features for certain holidays. The pasta is made fresh and cooked to order.
Of course to start off the evening we ordered a bottle of red wine, I love a good glass of wine!!! Our meal started with a Mixed Green Salad and it was a meal in and of itself. For my entrée I had the RARE Lasagna, it would of made my Italian grandmother proud. I truly could go back again today and order the same dish again. My husband was in the mood for a traditional meal, he ordered Polpette Bevevino which is Spaghetti and Meatballs. He practically lick his plate clean so I think it was a success.
We had a wonderful evening full of fun and laughter. Our meals were wonderful and the service was perfect through out the evening. When you are in the mood for an excellent Italian meal and a special evening out RARE should be on your list of…to go to restaurants.
