Great Food, Wonderful Drinks, and Sun Shine
We are blessed to live in a community which provides us with so many options each and everyday.
For me the hardest part is trying to take advantage of all Northern Colorado has to offer. As the warm weather approaches, I find myself wanting to be outside. I am the happiest when the sun is warming my face, with a nice glass of wine in my hand, and wonderful food to enjoy
Now that spring has arrived in Colorado. It is time to combine my love of being outside, with good food, at a great restaurant, sitting on a wonderful patio.
Many of our restaurants in the area have outdoor eating options. I have 3 favorite establishments in old town to eat outside. (there are many more) Each location has its own unique feel. The 1st is Austin’s which is located on the corner of College Ave and Mountain Ave. I often will bring clients or guest from out of town to Austin’s for a wonderful lunch. I love the menu, it offers plenty of options for guest to order from. One of my favorite items on the menu is the homemade Chicken Pot Pie. The bright red umbrellas make me smile, the service is great, and the corner location is quite lively.
The 2nd location is, The Kitchen which sits on the opposite side of the street. The Kitchen specializes in local organic foods and the menu is always changing, depending on what is available. I find the Chef’s Specials to be delightful. When I eat at The Kitchen, I feels as if I am spoiling myself just a little bit. For me The Kitchen is a place to relax, take a deep breath, and re-charge. Truly a little treat.
The final spot is The Sunset Lounge atop The Elizabeth Hotel. This is not a full service restaurant, but it does serve appetizers along with their handcrafted drinks. The Sunset Lounge offers the best views of Old Town, the Front Range, and the Sunset. My husband and I, will often meet up with friends at The Sunset Lounge before heading out to dinner. It is a great location to catch up with good friends. The lounge is high end with a relaxing feel.
The truth is that there are just too many wonderful places to enjoy in Northern Colorado. Eating outside is like being on a little local vacation, so pick a special little spot, and enjoy the feeling of relax under the sun with a wonderful drink, good food, and friends.
