What makes Windsor Colorado so Great? My home has been in the Windsor community for about 20 years. Windsor sits just outside of Fort Collins about 6 miles southeast. Windsor is just 1 exit south of Harmony off I-25. The town is an old farming community with a population around 25,000. Windsor has grown quite extensively over the past 10ish years.

What makes Windsor so great…in my opinion…

Windsor is close to all of the Northern Colorado communities. It allows people to work in several locations with easy access to all of them. It also has everything one might need to access daily from major grocery stores, excellent restaurants, doctors offices, golfing, and even a day spent at the lake.

It is one of the smaller communities around the area so it still has a small town feel. The area was once known for its rich farmland but I would now call it a bedroom community where families live, but commute out to other areas for work. There is a beautiful small lake in the Middle of town with a path that goes completely around it for people to walk, run, or bike on. Daily you will see people fishing or boating on the lake.

The community has 25 developed and natural parks with over 200 acres. Multiple events are held throughout the area and the parks for people in the community to attend.

Along the edge of town flows the Poudre River which also has a path for walking, running, and biking. Eventually the path will be connected all the way into Fort Collins for easy bike ability between the two communities. I believe this will be accomplished over the next couple of years.

Since it is a smaller town one will see friends in the grocery store or waiting in line at the post office. It is not unusual for students to attend school together from kindergarten through high school graduation. There are 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and soon to be 2 high schools along with a charter school that serves K-12 grades.

Windsor is a quite area with beautiful views of the mountains, we call the Front Range.

Many of the homes sit on acreage and allow for horses. It is a great place to live if you would like a little space around you. There are also multiple golf course developments one can live in which provide extensive amenities for people to access. The largest development in the area is Water Valley, this development boost 2 golf courses, lakes, pools, trails and more.

I truly love living in Windsor. I love the fact that I can easily access both the Fort Collins
and Loveland communities. However, if I want to enjoy a little peace and quite of the
country life I can…For me Windsor is just a little gem!!!
