The Colorado Youth Outdoor Program is located between Fort Collins and Windsor at the Swift Ponds on County Rd 36. The location consist of 240 acres completely devoted to outdoor education. On the grounds there are multiple lakes stocked with fish, an outdoor classroom, and indoor classrooms all dedicated to accommodating the outdoor activities.

Youth who enroll in the program must be attended by a parent/guardian or significant adult participant. The programs vary in time and length…The Core Programs last for 12 to 14 weeks, one night a week. Throughout the length of the program each activity is focused on for about 3 weeks. Each session offered through The Colorado Youth Outdoor programs fill up fast.
Both of our girls, had the opportunity to experience some of what the Colorado Youth Outdoor Center offer, through various classes at their schools. They really enjoyed getting to try fly fishing, archery, and other activities.
As I walked around the campus, I thought, what a great opportunity this is for families to get outside, and do activities with one another. The focus is really on doing activities together, building memories, and a forever bond with one another.
Colorado has so many wonderful outdoor recreational activities for all to enjoy, sometimes we just forget. The Colorado Youth Program brings those activities back into our lives. Since the program is a Non-Profit, with a mission to make outdoor recreation accessible and affordable. The cost are kept to a minimum, and provides the participants with all of the necessary equipment for each activity. For example the fee for the 15 week Quality Relationship Program is $25 per person.
The Colorado Outdoor Youth Program is easily accessed since the facilities are located right outside of Fort Collins, Timnath, and Windsor. The facilities provide a wonderful experience for children and their families to get outside and connect.
Personal Note: I believe that the Colorado Outdoor Youth Program is allowing us to really connect with nature, outdoor experiences, and each other. This is such a great opportunity. If you have school age children, I highly recommend looking into what they have to offer.
Adults also have the opportunity to volunteer, teach programs, and be a trusted adult partner. Many of our Non-Profit programs, are always looking for volunteers and this program is no different.
