Brrrr It’s Cold Outside
Northern Colorado is accustom to cold weather. Many days when it is just above 0 degrees outside you will see people going for a run or riding their bikes. For the most part cold weather does not stop us from doing activities outside.
However, there are those days when being inside is a welcomed idea. There are so many things to do inside from going to the gym to seeing a movie and everything in between.
Here are a few ideas and places to go on a cold winter day.
For the adults in the group an exciting adventure to an Escape Room could be just the right fit. An Escape Room will get you out of the house to enjoy some time with good friends and engage your brain with a few laughs along the way.
We have had the pleasure of going to a few different escape rooms in the area. When deciding which escape room to visit, I would take into consideration the size of your group. We recently just went to one that specializes in 1 hour experiences with a maximum of 4-5 people. This was nice because it did take the entire evening and we did not have to organize a large group of people to enjoy the experience. The Looking Glass Escape Room also offers a wonderful full bar with very creative libations. The smaller group size is perfect for a date night or an evening out with friends. We enjoyed our experience with a group of ladies and had a wonderful time.
For the family and kids, a fun time of exploring can take place at The Museum of Discovery , with lots to experience . The Museum of Discovery focuses on Northern Colorado History, interactive activities, and the Otter Box Digital Dome Theater.
Visiting the museum can take as much time as you wish. From an hour to a few hours of fun can be had by all. The theater is an optional experience with different movies showing at different times. The museum is designed to be educational while fully engaging the participants in the learning experience.
For new residents of Northern Colorado, the museum takes a dive into our past and how the area has developed over the years. I believe that many of our newer residents would enjoy this part of the museum. I have lived here for almost 30 years and found this part of the museum to be quite interesting. My grandchildren seem to love the music section of the museum and the train area.
For the family it is always great to get in an afternoon or evening of bowling. Bowling is a great activity for all ages and gets you out of the cold. We have multiple bowling alleys to choose from in Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor. We enjoy going to The Summit which is located just off of I-25 between Fort Collins and Loveland next to the Budweiser Event Center. It is the newest bowling alley in the area, and offers lots of family fun along with a restaurant and sports bar. In addition to bowling there is laser tag and a large arcade. The Summit offers different bowling specials throughout the week and year. If you really love to bowl and want to meet new people you may want to join a weekly bowling league.
This is just a few ideas of things to do when it is cold outside. There are many more options in the area that allow all ages to get out and enjoy our Northern Colorado Community.
