Old Town Fort Collins is a gathering place for all and is said to be “The Main Street USA” that all American towns should have. It is located on what is now the north end of Fort Collins since our town has expanded mostly to the south.

It is said that the Old Town of Fort Collins was the inspiration for the Main Street USA in Disneyland. This is actually a true fact since the designer of the Main Street in Disneyland was originally the city planner for Fort Collins Colorado. This is a little known fact and our claim to fame.

When you walk the streets it is obvious that this is a true gathering space for all in our community. It showcases a wide verity of shopping, restaurants, and socializing for a diverse age group. In a single block you will see our younger population, college students, families, and retirees.

Fort Collins has kept its city office in the Old Town area along with professional office, Otter Box National Headquarters, and other vibrant local businesses. This has allowed for our locally owned restaurants, shops, and art galleries to thrive in the Old Town area with support from the community.

The neighborhoods surrounding Old Town are very desirable to live in. Many of the homes are built in the early 1900’s with historical architecture, The homes are within walking and biking distance to the shops and restaurants, the easy access to Old Town is highly sought after. Mountain Ave is the address to have. Along the treelined drive there are beautiful historic homes. The Old Town Trolly runs along Mountain Ave starting Memorial Day and continues throughout the summer months on the weekends. A must do to experience the history of the area! ! ! ! !

The Old Town area boost an exciting, fun, and extensive geographical area to host many of our larger events that make our community unique. Some of these events are Fireworks at City Park on Fourth of July which also includes a 5k run, Taste of Fort Collins, Tour de Fat, Bohemian Nights, Lighting of the Trees, CSU Homecoming Parade, and the Finishing of the Colorado Marathon. The extensiveness of these events are amazing and will require additional write ups.
